Updating the Firmware may resolve known connection issues with recent Samsung mobile devices. However a another Android device, that is not experiencing the issue, will be needed in order to perform the update.
It is not normally necessary to do this unless you are experiencing issues with your Thermometer and have been advised to do so by your supplier.
